Michael Singletary is passionate about supporting literacy leaders with implementing district and school-wide MTSS and structured literacy systems that quickly improve student reading outcomes. As a current literacy and MTSS consultant and director of curriculum and instruction and school improvement and former principal and instructional coach, she fully understands what it takes to implement and support district and school-wide organizational change. It’s no secret that if we really want to shift our student reading outcomes that it must start with MTSS and a strong focus on prevention in tier 1. But, what does that really mean? What does that look like at the district, school and classroom level? What are the structured literacy systems and action steps needed to get real reading results?
This session will guide instructional coaches, school leaders and literacy leaders in setting up a data-based structured literacy system at the district, school and classroom level that’s grounded in MTSS, with a focus on tier 1 instruction, that will improve reading outcomes at scale for all students!
