About Kazimiera Patterson
Baltimore born and raised, I began my career as a Special Educator and Deaf/Hard of Hearing teacher. 25 years later, I am in my 5th year as an Instructional Coach, my second in Harford County Public Schools. I love the challenges this role brings and the opportunity to support teacher and student achievement. When not coaching, I am working on my homestead with my husband and chilling with my chickens.

Building the Airplane in Flight: Coaching Conditional Teachers on Instructional Basics
Fasten your seatbelts and get ready to take off into a new school year! The demographics of our new teachers have changed and many conditionally certified teachers will come into orientation with little or no foundation in teaching practices. In this session we will identify strategies to pre-assess the instructional needs of conditional teachers and consider how to balance their needs for autonomy and efficacy as adult learners with these instructional gaps. With this in mind, we will explore options for differentiated support throughout the school year to develop the instructional practices of conditional teachers while supporting high quality lessons for students.
