Dr. Brian Dinkins, is a rising professional development trainer, keynote, and motivational speaker for the Center for Empowering Education where he serves as CEO. He also teaches future principals in the educational leadership program at Marian University in Indianapolis, IN. Raised by a single mother in the inner city of Indianapolis, he achieved poorly graduating with a 1.9 GPA but with the support of teachers, coaches, and mentors, earned a B.A. from Purdue University, two master’s degrees, Ed.S, and has recently finished his doctorate in educational leadership. Brian has served as turnaround principal in four high poverty schools, including traditional, charter, and private schools, and has committed his work to serve children and families in need.

Participants will learn the principles of Emotional Intelligence for both personal and professional life.
Participants will be introduced to the concepts of personal self-care vital to building resilience in educators and how to use EQ when addressing challenges, stress, and the emotional demands of coaching.
Participants will learn personal insight into the links between thoughts, feelings, and behavior to distinguish between them to provide more equitable support to teachers and students.
Participants will be challenged to reflect on their emotional intelligence and learn strategies to use EQ to build, maintain, and repair relationships with the teachers they coach.
